Code of Ethics

Self Enquiry Practitioner Certification Pathway
Freedom Together

1. Introduction & Scope

1.1 This Code of Ethics establishes the professional and ethical standards for all participants enrolled in the Self Enquiry Practitioner Certification Pathway and all Certified Self Enquiry Practitioners. For the purposes of this document, both groups are referred to as Practitioners.

1.2 This Code exists to preserve the integrity, responsibility, and reputation of the Self Enquiry modality, and to support safe, ethical, and mature practice.

1.3 Freedom Together reserves the right to amend this Code where required to reflect evolving professional, ethical, or regulatory standards. Practitioners will be notified of any material changes.

2. Professional Integrity & Responsibility

2.1 Confidentiality
Practitioners must uphold strict confidentiality in relation to all client information. Disclosure of personal information requires explicit and informed consent from the client, or a legal guardian where applicable, except where disclosure is required by law.

2.2 Integrity of Representation
Practitioners shall not behave in any manner that brings the Self Enquiry modality, Freedom Together, or fellow Practitioners into disrepute. Conduct should reflect integrity, responsibility, and respect for the work.

2.3 Ethical Conduct
Practitioners shall conduct themselves with professionalism, honesty, and consideration, adhering to accepted ethical standards within helping and facilitation-based professions.

2.4 Disciplinary Action
Serious or repeated breaches of this Code may result in suspension of pathway access, withdrawal of certification eligibility, or revocation of certification, at the discretion of Freedom Together.

3. Competence & Scope of Practice

3.1 Competence & Ongoing Learning
Practitioners shall practise within the limits of their training and experience and commit to ongoing learning, self-awareness, and professional development.

3.2 Accurate Representation of Qualifications
Practitioners must not misrepresent their training, certification status, experience, or level of competence.

3.3 Scope Boundaries
Practitioners shall not provide advice, facilitation, or guidance that exceeds their level of training or falls outside the scope of Self Enquiry practice.

3.4 Referral Responsibility
Where a client’s needs extend beyond the scope of Self Enquiry or the Practitioner’s competence, Practitioners must encourage the client to seek appropriate medical, psychological, or professional support.

4. Practitioner–Client Relationship

4.1 Non-Exploitation & Safety
Practitioners shall respect the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of clients. They shall not exploit clients through action, inaction, manipulation, coercion, or misuse of the practitioner–client dynamic.

4.2 Sexual Boundaries
Practitioners shall not engage in any form of sexual or romantic relationship with a current client.

4.3 Relationship Transition
If a personal or intimate relationship is contemplated, the professional practitioner–client relationship must be formally terminated prior to any transition, and the client referred to another qualified practitioner.

4.4 Non-Discrimination
Practitioners shall honour the inherent dignity of all individuals and shall not discriminate unjustly on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, culture, or background.

5. Client Consent & Business Practices

5.1 Informed Consent
Practitioners must ensure clients understand the nature and scope of Self Enquiry. Participation must be voluntary and informed. For minors or individuals unable to provide informed consent, written permission must be obtained from a legal guardian.

5.2 Financial Transparency
All fees, cancellation policies, and terms of service must be clearly communicated and agreed upon prior to commencing practitioner-client work.

5.3 Record Keeping & Privacy
Client records must be maintained, stored, and disposed of securely and confidentially, in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

6. Community & Professional Conduct

6.1 Internal Resolution
Practitioners are encouraged to address minor ethical concerns respectfully and directly where appropriate. Serious or unresolved concerns should be reported to Freedom Together in writing.

6.2 Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between Practitioners, or between a Practitioner and Freedom Together, all parties agree to act in good faith to seek resolution, including participation in mediation where appropriate.

6.3 Professional Respect
Practitioners shall not publicly disparage Freedom Together, Chris Knight, or fellow Practitioners in a manner that undermines trust, integrity, or the reputation of the modality.

6.4 Insurance
Practitioners who offer Self Enquiry in a professional capacity are strongly encouraged to maintain appropriate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance (for example, through IICT or equivalent providers).

7. Advertising & Representation

7.1 Use of Title
Only individuals who have completed certification requirements may represent themselves as Certified Self Enquiry Practitioners, subject to maintaining any required memberships or professional standing.

7.2 Truthful Representation
Practitioners shall not make exaggerated, misleading, or unethical claims regarding outcomes, benefits, or guarantees associated with Self Enquiry.

7.3 Brand & Attribution
Use of the terms “Self Enquiry” or references to Freedom Together or Chris Knight must remain ethical, accurate, and reserved. Practitioners may not imply partnership, endorsement, or authority beyond their certification status.

8. Acknowledgement

By enrolling in or participating in the Self Enquiry Practitioner Certification Pathway, Practitioners confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Ethics as a condition of participation and certification.
